It is with great regret that we have to tell you that our former Chairman – Vaughan Tayler passed away peacefully last night after a very long illness, Vaughan had been a member of Watford Harriers for over 30 years, he was a level 4 coach, took over the reins of the OGM’s when Keith Dearing passed away some years ago and contributed to the club in a myriad of other ways, he will be very greatly missed.
Given these dreadful times that we are living through the funeral will of course be very restricted numbers, but the family intend to have a celebration of his life at the clubhouse when the restrictions are lifted and I’m sure many of you would like to pay your respects then.
Unfortunately for the time being we cannot run any Minors sessions due to the social distancing rules set by UK Athletics. As soon as we are able to put these sessions back on, we will inform you via our website and social media. We thank you for your understanding and patience in these difficult times.
Training update after Government announcements on 23rd June.
As Woodside Stadium is managed by Everyone Active we will not be permitted to use the stadium until the lockdown on their industry is removed and they return to the Leisure Centre, this is still probably a few weeks away. Hopefully you are maintaining your fitness by training in other environments and we look forward to seeing you back on the track soon. The Committee
As stated on the 1st June the club remains closed. We appreciate this is a difficult time and we hope to be up and running again sometime in the very near future. As per government and england athletics guidelines, athletes are allowed to meet up in groups of up to 6, but social distancing must be adhered. Please note these will not be considered official Watford Harriers sessions.
