And as if that wasn’t enough she also equaled the 80m hurdles record set way back in 1975 by C Millar.
Charlotte Glenister having recently secured the club’s Under 20 Women’s 2000m steeplechase best has now added the 1500m steeplechase record as well. She became the first female athlete to run the event at U20 in the May SAL meeting at Woodside and then chopped a cool 12 seconds off that time in the Bruce Longden Foundations SteepleFest at Lee Valley nine days later.
At the most recent SAL fixture, an event first – the 4x400m Mixed Relay. On their way to winning the A race Simeon Beckford-Tongs, Suzie Bentley, Rachel Bentley and Owen Dearman recorded the club’s first time at the event giving subsequent Watford Harrier teams something to aim at.
On days 2 and 3 of the Hertfordshire County Championships, 20 juniors and 4 seniors turned out to compete for Watford Harriers. There were some fantastic performances across the weekend with 8 athletes being crowned County Champion. 5 of these 8 were double gold medallists.
