Club Announcement: Vaughan Tayler

It is with great regret that we have to tell you that our former Chairman – Vaughan Tayler passed away peacefully last night after a very long illness, Vaughan had been a member of Watford Harriers for over 30 years, he was a level 4 coach, took over the reins of the OGM’s when Keith Dearing passed away some years ago and contributed to the club in a myriad of other ways, he will be very greatly missed.

Given these dreadful times that we are living through the funeral will of course be very restricted numbers, but the family intend to have a celebration of his life at the clubhouse when the restrictions are lifted and I’m sure many of you would like to pay your respects then.

  1. Words cannot express the joy and the enrichment Vaughan Tayler gave to others especially youngsters. He was a very beautiful person and was much admired and respected by my daughters – Rosalind, Katharine and Helen. who have such wonderful memories of the times they shared in his charming company. We’re all very saddened to hear the news and our thoughts are with his family and friends.
